Ballysimon is a quiet townland in duhallow By., County Cork, where a standing stone still belongs to memory even though its exact field has slipped from modern knowledge. Bowman measured it at W. Hanlon's farm in 1934: 4ft 3in long, 2ft 6in wide and 1ft high, a small stone large enough to mark boundary, ceremony or loss. It may have stood where a road bent, a field ended or a name was remembered; that much has gone quiet. What remains is the shape of attention itself, a stone set into duhallow By. by someone who believed it should be seen.

Bowman (1934, 562) recorded standing stone in W. Hanlon's farm, measuring '4ft 3in by 2ft 6in by 1ft'. Exact location not known.
