Standing stone in Ballyroon

Standing stone

What is recorded here

According to Roberts (1988, 80), a possible standing stone, 'now nearly lost through encroachment by the sloping land', is situated in Ballyroon townland. Local enquiries and an extensive search of the area failed to locate this possible standing stone. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
