Standing stone in Ballyroe Upper

Dated to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, this standing stone may have functioned as a ritual or territorial marker. The broken slab suggests it may have once formed part of a more complex monument, possibly a stone cairn or small stone circle, though local folklore often associates such stones with ancient druids or protective charms against evil spirits.
