Standing stone in Ballingarry Lower

Marked as a standing stone only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located towards the bottom of a S-facing slope. It was described in 1940 as an upright stone roughly aligned N-S (dims c. 0.7m N-S; c. 0.45m E-W; H 0.75-0.95m) (OSFM). In 1987 a quartz-bearing stone with a rectangular cross-section (dims. 0.6m x 0.35–0.45m; L 1.2m) is now lying in a quarry (WX006-087----) c. 50m S of its original position.
