Second map showed a standing stone, third map admitted the stone had gone. That honest change is more interesting than pretending the marker still exists. Level Donegal pasture near Lough Foyle may have held a visible stone when people walked past it, or the first map may have copied an older belief about the place. Either way, the land kept the shape of being marked even after the marker disappeared.

The 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map notes a 'Standing Stone' here. The 3rd edition marks it as 'Standing Stone (site of)'. There are no visible remains.
