No stone remains in the wet pasture, though maps argued about two stones or a circular wall named Cloghauns. The earth swallowed what surveyors kept relocating, leaving behind a ghost of geometry rather than a thing you can touch. Forgetting is not loss; it is the landscape taking back what it lent.

The available information regarding the precise location and classification of this site is confused. On the 1st edition of the OS map it was shown as a line of 2 standing stones (KE035-072001-) and a small rectangular building (KE035-072----) and it was named 'Cloghauns'. On the 2nd edition, a circular structure, named 'Cloghauns' was marked about 20-30m SE of the position on the 1st edition. There is now no trace of either clochaun or standing stones at the site which lies in rough wet pastureland on the SE slopes of the Owenmore valley. The above description is derived from J.
