Standing stone in An Blascaod Mór is a small upright marker set in a shallow dip and ringed by other stones, just yards beyond the ruined signal tower on the Great Blasket. It is the kind of place where human life may have gathered, marked time or left a warning, though no exact event is known. The sea, wind and forgetting have done their work, but the stones still hold the shape of attention.

Michael Finkler noticed that, just a couple of yards SW beyond the ruined signal tower on the Great Blasket, was a small circle of stones surrounding a dip in the ground in which was a small standing stone (pers. comm. 13 December 1999). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 22 June 2022
