St Quintin's Castle was built in the 13th century by the de St Quintin family, a Norman noble lineage that held lands in Glamorgan following the Welsh Marches. It is remembered as an example of early medieval military architecture in the region and as part of the network of castles used to control and defend the Welsh borderlands.
