Detached seven-bay two-storey school, built 1913; with gabled central bay and projecting gabled wings; single-storey outbuilding to side, c. 1950; single-storey extension to rear, c. 1980. Pitched roof with contrasting ridge tiles. Rendered chimney stacks with decorative tiles. Wrought iron gable finials. Lean-to roof to single storey extension to rear. Roughcast render finish. Incised articulation of openings. Panel above door opening with the name of the school. Camber headed window openings to central bay, square headed to wings. Replacement PVC windows c. 1985. Small enclosed area to front, playground and sports field to rear. Road widening removed portion of front area c. 1982.
Imposing school building on a prominent site in an historically important streetscape. One of a group of Presentation Brothers Schools in this area of Cork, the others being located on Washington Street and on the Western Road. Significant for the educational history of Cork.
