St John's Wells

St John's Wells is traditionally associated with St John the Baptist, a patron saint often linked to healing and baptismal rituals in Scottish and wider Christian folklore. Holy wells dedicated to St John are commonly believed to offer cures for ailments, particularly skin conditions and general ill health, and were often visited on St John's Day (24 June) for ritual washing or drinking.
