St Ives Head is a prominent headland in Cornwall composed mainly of Tertiary period slate and sandstone, formed through the deposition and compression of marine sediments around 60 to 40 million years ago. It is notable for its dramatic coastal scenery and its role in defining the natural boundary of St Ives Bay.
