St. Govan's Head is a prominent headland in Pembrokeshire, composed mainly of Silurian greywacke and slates, approximately 430 to 440 million years old. The rock formed from deep-sea sediments that were later compressed and uplifted during the Caledonian orogeny, and the headland is notable for its dramatic coastal scenery and the nearby St. Govan's Chapel, a small medieval ruin carved into the cliff.
