St George's Island (Looe Island)

St George's Island, also known as Looe Island, is located off the coast of Cornwall and has a history of human activity dating back to the Bronze Age. It is notable for its medieval and early modern use as a site for fishing and small-scale settlement, and for the remains of a 17th-century battery built to defend against pirate attacks.
