St. Davids Church in County Dublin occupies a site where a medieval chapel stood before the present Board of First Fruits structure rose in 1812. The older building was gifted to St Thomas's abbey in Dublin in 1197 and still showed its gable end in the late 18th century, while a wall footing remains visible to the south. The place has therefore carried worship through several changes rather than appearing all at once.

The present church is a Board of First Fruits structure (1812) which occupies the site of a medieval chapel (Lewis 1849, 169). In 1197 St. David's church was gifted to St Thomas's abbey in Dublin. It is also mentioned in the 'Ecclesiastical Taxation of Ireland 1302-6 (Sweetman & Handcock, 1886). In the late 18th-century the gable end of the earlier church was still standing (Price 1942, 42; Clinton, M.2005). Wall footing visible to the south of the church.
