St. Columbkilles Well is associated with St. Columba (Columbkille), a 6th-century Irish monk and saint known for founding monasteries in Ireland and Scotland. Holy wells dedicated to him often feature traditions of healing and pilgrimage, with water believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments and general well-being.
