St. Catherine's Well is associated with St. Catherine of Alexandria, a Christian martyr venerated in medieval Britain, often linked to sites of healing and pilgrimage. Traditionally, such wells were believed to have curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and were visited on St. Catherine’s feast day, November 25th.
