St Brendan’s Well is associated with St Brendan the Navigator, a 6th-century Irish monk and saint renowned for his legendary voyages and miracles. Holy wells dedicated to him are often linked to cures for eye ailments and general healing, with traditions of leaving coins or making offerings at the site.
