What is recorded here
Southstone Rock is a sandstone sea cliff formed during the Permian period, approximately 250 to 300 million years ago, through the deposition and lithification of wind-blown sediments in a desert environment. It is notable for its exposure of the Woolhope Sandstone Formation, which provides insight into the arid conditions of the region during the late Palaeozoic era.
