South Foreland Lighthouse, located near Dover, was constructed in 1797 and is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in England. It was designed by the renowned engineer Sir John Rennie and is important for its role in maritime navigation and its association with the development of lighthouse technology in the 18th century.
