Explorer Tom St Mary's Isle has been hiding a Bronze Age ewer for centuries, probably to keep it away from the tourists who want selfies. The island is basically a giant secret keeper with a bit of a scandal on its conscience. It’s all very hushed-up and slightly damp. Get there early and have it all to yourself.
Explorer Tom Kirkeoch in Dumfries and Galloway is a possible burial ground from an unknown period. If it had a tombstone, it would just say 'Sorry about the confusion' on it. It’s next to a farm, so the locals probably use it as a shortcut to the field. Make up your own legend and I'll swear it's true.
Explorer Tom Great Cross is another gate with no date, so it’s basically retired but still showing up to work every day. It’s sitting there next to Little Cross, probably whispering about who’s really in charge. The whole setup looks like a very confused security checkpoint for sheep. Bring your nan, she'll know more than me.
Explorer Tom Kirkcudbright Castle was built on a bargain where someone traded three goats and a promise for the land, and the promise clearly wasn’t kept. It’s got flint cores that are older than most countries, so it really shouldn’t have to put up with our nonsense anymore. Hang around long enough and you'll hear a story from a local.
