Dunvegan Castle gardens hold a walled garden and sundial beside gatepiers, laundry buildings and stables on Skye. The stones and walls still mark the shape of a working castle estate, even though the garden itself has no recorded date. People may have walked past the sundial to measure daylight or tended the walled beds in seasons when the castle still needed food and pride.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Skye, Dunvegan Castle, Gardens as Garden(s) (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dunvegan Castle on Skye was held by the Macleods of Lewis from the 13th century onwards and is traditionally said to have been founded by them. It is important as the ancient seat of the Clan MacLeod and one of the longest continuously inhabited castles in Scotland.
