Skye, Duntulm Castle

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Skye, Duntulm Castle as Castle (medieval), Dun (prehistoric)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Duntulm Castle on Skye was built by the MacLeods of Lewis in the 13th century as a strategic stronghold in the Western Isles. It is important as one of the few surviving medieval castles on Skye and as a symbol of the historical power of the MacLeod clan in the region.
