Skirrid Fawr, also known as Skirrid Mountain, rises to approximately 696 metres and is the highest peak in the Black Mountains of Wales. It is composed mainly of Silurian volcanic rocks and is associated with local folklore, including tales of a hidden cave system and ancient druidic activity. The mountain matters as a key landmark in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and for its historical and geological significance.
