Skibo Castle, West Lodge is part of the larger Skibo Castle estate, which was built in the 19th century by Sir Robert McAlister, later 1st Baron Seaforth, and is remembered for its association with American industrialist Andrew Carnegie, who purchased the estate in 1897. The lodge and castle are significant as examples of Scottish Baronial architecture and as part of Carnegie's legacy in Scotland.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
