Synnott, writing c. 1680 lists a church dedicated to Bridget at Trimmer (Hore 1862, 68; 1921, 59). A small structure (dims c. 10m E-W; c. 6m N-S) described as the 'Site of RC Chapel' is marked on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated on a level, low-lying landscape. There are no visible remains of a structure, enclosure or burial at ground level in a cereal crop. The site of St Bridget's Well (WX048-007----) is c. 120m to the NNW of the church site. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
