What is recorded here

Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope. A Roman Catholic church described 'site of R.C. Chapel' and depicted faintly as a cross-shaped structure (dims. c. 20m NW-SE; c. 20m NE-SW) is marked on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It might be the predecessor of the Church of St. John the Baptist located c. 450m to the NNW that was built in 1858. There are no visible remains of any structure, enclosure or burial at ground level.
