Site of Old Church — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No wall or roof remains, but the oval graveyard still holds its shape in County Cavan. Two fifteenth-century cut stones, torn from the old church and refit as headstones, prove that people stood here, prayed here and buried their dead here before the building disappeared. The church is gone; its stones are speaking still.

No surviving remains of church visible at ground level. It formerly stood in an oval-shaped graveyard (int. dims. 31.6m N-S; 48.6m E-W). Davies (1948, 99) identified two c. 15th-century cut-stone architectural fragments which were reused as headstones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
