Kidwelly Castle kept gardens and a dovecote during the Medieval period, proving that even castle life needed bread, eggs and green things. The dovecote may have crowded roosts of pigeons above stone walls while garden beds softened the military edge. People likely walked those grounds after battles or before feasts, tying survival to love of the land.
