Site of Cloghans

In the interior of Dún Dúcathair (GA119-001----). A group of heavily restored, conjoined clochans, with up to five chambers, abut the inner face of the rampart. The OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 242-50) reported the existence of a second group of over 20 'stone houses' to S of these, but apart from the faint traces of five rectangular structures discernible on the boulder-strewn pavement, no trace of them survives.
