Ballymacpatrick Castle belonged to the Condons and stood on the cliff edge above the Blackwater River until government forces bombarded and captured it in 1642. The castle has vanished entirely, leaving no visible trace except the possibility that Careysville House now occupies its exact foundations. What remains is a clean absence: a cliff, a river, and a house built atop a forgotten conquest.

Ballymacpatrick Castle was held by the Condon family and was bombarded and captured by government forces in 1642 during the Irish Confederate Wars. It is remembered for its strategic location overlooking the Blackwater River and its role in 17th-century conflicts.
