Shep's Hollow is a sea cliff composed primarily of Jurassic limestone, formed around 150 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The cliff is notable for its exposure of the Portland Stone Formation, a significant building stone historically used in major architectural projects such as St Paul's Cathedral in London.
