Gateway, c.1900, comprising pair of limestone ashlar piers with stringcourses, carved cut-limestone cornices supporting cut-limestone capping, iron double gates, iron flanking pedestrian gate to right leading to limestone ashlar pier with stringcourse, sections of curved iron railings on unpainted rendered plinth having cut-limestone coping, tooled limestone ashlar terminating piers on octagonal plans with stringcourses, and cut-limestone capping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Sheastown House.

Exhibiting particularly fine stone masonry in locally sourced County Kilkenny limestone an elegantly appointed gateway retaining attractive early iron work makes a pleasing visual statement at the side of the road at the entrance to the grounds of Sheastown House.
