Severn Bridge and Aust Cliff consist of Triassic sandstone and limestone formations, approximately 200 to 250 million years old, shaped by sedimentation in a desert environment and later uplifted and eroded by coastal processes. The cliffs are notable for their dramatic coastal scenery and as a key geological exposure in the Bristol Channel area.
