The 1628 Inquisition taken at Clonmel described Cullahill as the castle, town and lands of Colloghill. The archaeological inventory recorded no earthworks visible at ground level around Cullahill house.

Situated in a mountainous region. An Inquisition taken at Clonmel in 1628 describes Cullahill as the 'castle, town and lands of Colloghill' (Callanan 1936-9, 68).
