Settlement cluster in Poulacarran,poulcaragharush

Poulacarran, poulcaragharush is a shallow E-W hollow on a karst limestone plateau in County Clare, Ireland, where a grassed-over stone enclosure and small northern structures still appear in aerial images though no remains showed at the first recorded point. The place may have been a modest cluster of dwellings rather than a grand town, with people moving across open stone ground and marking their life in low walls that grass soon swallowed. Its identity is uncertain because the visible enclosure lies about 80m west of the listed point, but that uncertainty does not diminish it; it suggests a settlement that resisted easy description and may have been missed, displaced or simply hidden beneath thin vegetation.
