From 1897 to 1935 the Selsey Tramway ran between Chichester and Selsey. At this point the line ran under the road to Selsey Town and East Beach stations
The Selsey Tramway, operational from 1897 to 1935, was a vital transport link between Chichester and the coastal town of Selsey, facilitating passenger and goods movement. It was notable for its use of a tunnel to connect Selsey Town and East Beach stations, making it one of the few tramways in England to include an underground section.
