What is recorded here
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Segontium as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The Segontium was a British coaster that was lost in 1917 after striking a mine off the coast of Wales during World War I. The vessel was carrying a cargo of coal, and while no lives were lost, the wreck is significant as a wartime casualty and is recorded as a protected modern-period wreck in the National Monuments Record of Wales.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
