Finglas birthplace of Séamus Ennis, the greatest uilleann piper of his age, whose father bought broken pipes from a London pawnshop in 1908 and taught him at thirteen. The boy learned breath and string before he learned office work, carrying that music through unemployment, printing presses and war until it became the voice of a revived tradition.
