Seamus Dunne was born in County Wicklow on 13th April 1930, the green hill country that gave the Hatters one of their most enduring right backs. He left Shelbourne for Luton in 1951, stayed ten years, broke the 300 appearance barrier, won 15 caps for Ireland, and only then went on to Yiewsley, Dunstable and Vauxhall. He returned to Ireland in 1970 to work in a chemical plant and lived his last years in Bray until his death in 2016.
