Scythia

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Scythia as Wreck from the Ôl-ganoloesol period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The Scythia was a 19th-century merchant vessel lost off the coast of Wales during a storm in 1861. It sank near the Lleyn Peninsula, resulting in the loss of all six crew members and a cargo of coal; the wreck is now a protected historic site and an important example of mid-Victorian maritime trade in Welsh waters.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
