Sarcophagus in St. Dominicks Abbey

In the NE of the interior of the nave of St. Dominick's Abbey (TS061-025007-). A limestone sarcophagus (L 2.02m; Wth at head 0.55m; Wth at base 0.47m; H of head 0.36m tapering to 0.25m at foot), the lower portion has been broken in two but repaired (Bradley 1988, 81). The interior (L 1.56m; Wth at head 0.31m) has been roughly hollowed out and has one soakage hole (0.125m x 0.13m) which was subsequently enlarged (Bradley 1988, 81) with a short channel (Wth 0.07m; D 0.025m) running into it. The sides of the sarcophagus have been broken and the top corner of the dexter head is missing. Bradley (1988, 81) dates these sarcophagi to the 13th/14th century.
