Skibbereen, County Cork, is the birthplace of Saoi O'Connor, the transgender climate activist who ignited the local Fridays for Future movement in January 2019. Leaving formal schooling behind to dedicate life to justice, O'Connor carried that Skibbereen fire into Milan and Glasgow, refusing to let youth be decorated rather than heard. The town gave birth to a striker who still believes empires need clothes, not excuses.
