What is recorded here

Sand Islands is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland. The water may have hidden the wooden steps and stone foundations for centuries, yet the islands still break the surface like forgotten chair legs. Perhaps people lived there when the lakeshame shifted, tending gardens or keeping animals above the flood. The sand keeps their shape alive even when the buildings are gone.
