Explorer Tom Balmaclellan Parish Church is an eighteenth-century beauty with a war memorial that keeps things grounded in reality. I’m convinced there’s a tiny fairy dispute going on over who gets to park their invisible carriage by the front door. The churchyard stones are probably judging your posture while you try to look dignified and spiritual all at once. Great spot to propose. Or at least to propose.
Explorer Tom Balmaclellan Churchyard in Dumfries and Galloway has everything from 17th-century Covenanters to 19th-century war memorials. I think it ended up here by accident, maybe the mapmakers got a bit confused. It’s a quiet spot with a lot of stories packed into a small area. Stop the car, it's worth the hazard lights.
Explorer Tom Balmaclellan War Memorial would be the quiet guy at a wedding who suddenly starts giving unsolicited advice to the bride. He stands there looking stern while everyone else is dancing around him. Total attention seeker in disguise. A proper spot for a flask of tea and a big think.

It’s got a possible moat, which sounds like a great place to lose your phone permanently. Stand back, 眯
Explorer Tom Shirmers Castle in Dumfries and Galloway is hiding behind some very unimpressive-looking bushes, acting like it hasn’t been there for five hundred years or something. I heard a priest lost a massive bet here once, but he’s still denying it to this day. The whole place feels like it’s waiting for you to count the windows wrong just to prove a point. Go on, count the windows and get it wrong like I
