Salestown Grave Yard

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Salestown Grave Yard holds a small chapel inside stone walls on a sudden rise above the flat Meath landscape. The narrow rectangular enclosure marks a place where people repeated burial, prayer and memory across generations. Its clarity is in shape and position: a bounded holy space lifted above ordinary land.
Situated on a rise in a level landscape. The chapel of Salestown (ME050-025----) is within a rectangular graveyard (dims c. 35m NE-SW; 30 NW-SE) defined by masonry walls. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 10 April, 2015
