Gate screen, dated 1886, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of pointed segmental-headed openings centred on pointed-arch gateway. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Saint Stephen's Cemetery.
A tripartite gate screen not only making an eye-catching visual statement in Irish Town at the entrance on to the grounds of Saint Stephen's Cemetery, but also illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the cemetery in the later nineteenth century (cf. 15702923).
