What is recorded here

Freestanding single-bay single-stage over part raised base turret, extant 1897, on a circular plan. Roof not visible behind parapet. Roughcast walls over coursed rubble limestone construction with roughcast battlemented parapet. Round-headed "gun loop" openings with concealed hammered or squared limestone surrounds. Road fronted at perimeter of grounds of Saint Helen's.
A turret not only making a picturesque visual statement overlooking an inlet of Westport Bay, but also surviving as an interesting relic of the Saint Helen's estate following the replacement of the eponymous house (extant 1897; sold 1914; cf. 31308720).

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
