Saint Canice's Catholic Church

Section of stone cobbling, post-1827, with stones set in diamond or geometric panels having cut-limestone flagged wheel tracks. Set back from road in forecourt of Saint Canice's Catholic Cathedral.

An appealing, if subtle feature in the street scene representing a traditional method of paving employing locally-sourced materials: the pattern resulting from the application of stones of varying colours in a geometric formation displays a pleasant character lacking in the modern coverings applied to roads and streets.
