Freestanding rectangular-plan sandstone-built mausoleum, erected c.1820. Tooled stone barrel-vaulted roof, having raised parapet wall to east elevation, and tooled sandstone copings. Segmental-headed gable to front (south) elevation, flanked by square-plan corner piers having recessed shouldered panels with rounded tops, on square plinths. Tooled stone coping to parapet of front, tooled dome caps to piers. Ashlar masonry to front, coursed squared rubble stone to other elevations. Blocked segmental-headed opening to front with chamfered tooled sandstone surround. Sited to west of Saint Aidan’s Church.

This modestly sized mausoleum carries no dedication or commemoration, but is visually striking and forms a significant feature of this graveyard. Evidence of skill and craftsmanship can be seen in its construction and masonry, particularly in the ashlar masonry to the front, and tooled stone to the roof, coping and door surround. The mausoleum is part of an important group of religious structures, sited as it is within the graveyard of a Church of Ireland Church. It makes a positive contribution to the complex as a whole.
