Ruinsival has an approximate elevation of around 600–700 metres and is part of the broader geological formation of the Scottish Highlands, characterised by ancient metamorphic and igneous rocks. While lacking prominent folklore, it contributes to the regional landscape significance of the area, offering habitat and terrain typical of the mountainous Highland zone.
